We need to understand the present digital landscape with both its dangers and its opportunities. We know that social media informs and mis-informs us, but we do not always consider the ways it also forms and mal-forms us, our churches, and our society. On Thursday, June 8, 8:30am-2:30pm, join us at Cherrydale Baptist Church in Arlington, VA, for a special one-day conference titled Digital Discipleship. Come learn, discuss, and share best practices about how Christians can live purposefully in our digitally-saturated society and how we can disciple the new generation of digital natives.
Dr. Felicia Wu Song, Professor of Sociology at Westmont College, has taught about the internet and its effect on society to college students for over twenty years. Bringing insights from theology, sociology, and the lived experiences of her students, Dr. Song, author of Restless Devices, will help us examine our own digital lives and how we can disciple others in this rapidly changing environment.
R. York Moore serves as the President, CEO, and National Evangelist of the Coalition for Christian Outreach. Having garnered 700,000 followers on TikTok, Moore will guide us in discussing and understanding “digital citizenship” and Christian mission in our social media ladened age.
