RESOURCES

Peacemaking is not natural for many of us, but it can be learned. By incorporating social science research with biblical principles, we offer resources to help us understand our tendencies toward division and provide our participants with practical training on how to be effective peacemakers. These include access to our One America Movement Content Portal, which provides self-paced training sessions on peacemaking, as well as regular training events, retreats, conferences, and personal support from our national staff. We also have a resources page where you can download written materials for free.

RELATIONSHIP

Peacemaking can feel lonely, but it doesn’t have to be. Through our fellowship, pastors and leaders can connect with others who are committed to resisting the toxic polarization in our communities. Rather than feeling alone in the effort to stem the tide of division within their communities, these leaders will have a cohort of Fellows who are facing the same issues. When they are called upon to speak up against the worst impulses of their own side, they will know they are doing so in concert with Fellows across the country. The power of creating a shared group identity can spur these leaders to action even in the face of great challenge. It also creates a community that can share best practices and other forms of tangible support. We are stronger together than apart.

RENEWAL

We believe that we are only able to be peacemakers because God made peace with us. The ultimate solution to our tribalism and division is the reconciling work of Jesus on the cross. Therefore, it is not enough to have emotional support and intellectual content–we also need an ongoing sense of spiritual renewal. Our hope is that this individual sense of renewal reinvigorates us toward active peacemaking, and that endeavor will then positively affect our communities and the society more broadly. We strive to ensure that our network of Relationships and our wealth of Resources work together to restore our hearts, that our peacemaking may be an overflow of the gospel of peace.
